Book a Date with Free LitFest Pasadena – NBC Los Angeles

Spring is the ultimate open season, the widest time of year, and we can take more than a little inspiration from the way flower petals unfurl and trees burst with new leaves.

It’s not too much of a turnaround to recount this period of extreme openness to books, and how opening up a new story can open various doors in our minds and hearts. Because tales, both timeless and untold, have long served as bridges for readers, fascinating pathways to knowledge of unknown places, people and ideas.

Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why so many great book parties, like LitFest Pasadena, also open their proverbial petals in the spring. And these particular petals, or rather these pages, will soon be floating again, starting April 30, 2022.

But unlike past LitFest events, this outing is expanded and will take place over two event-packed weeks.

Or perhaps taking “locations” is more appropriate: authors, readers, and word-lovers will create a host of locations around Crown Town and beyond, including Vroman’s Bookstore, the Mountain View Mausoleum in Altadena, Red Hen Press and several other places that boast a lovely literary vibe.

And that vibe extends to the dynamic range of attendees. As with previous LitFests, the 2022 event will attract “…acclaimed authors and new voices to engage in a variety of powerful and inspiring literary and social conversations.”

Readings and workshops are on the schedule, and a slew of genres will line up in the twinkling spotlight, with true crime, mystery and other engaging categories having their major moments.

Registration? There is no need to pre-book your place at any of the in-person or virtual events.

The cost to attend? LitFest Pasadena is free, sweet.

As with all large-scale literary events, browsing the list of authors is a recommended and satisfying course of action before deciding what you would like to see.

Turn the page now and open yourself up to a new season, new possibilities, and a longtime favorite, LitFest Pasadena, in its longer, bigger, more ideal, more complete, and even more impressive format.
