Bhopal Literary and Art Festival to put online
The annual Bhopal Vishwarang-based Literature and Art Festival 2020 â² will host its second online edition due to the pandemic, featuring more than 1,000 artists, poets and writers from 50 countries.
Organized by Rabindranath Tagore University in collaboration with the International Center for Arts and Culture of Tagore, Bhopal, the festival known for promoting literature in Hindi and other regional languages, will be held from November 20 to 29. Billed as a kaleidoscope of art, culture and literature, the event boasts of a hectic 10-day schedule this year, with roundtables on the arts, as well as performances, including light melodies and songs. folk dances.
âThe event will begin with programs based on Rabindranath Tagore and his works. In addition, tributes will be paid to dhrupad singer Ramakant Gundecha, former president Shri Pranab Mukherjee, artist and theater director Usha Ganguly and poet Rahat Indori â, said the chairman of the committee of organization Santosh Kumar Choubey in a press release.
It will feature over 72 sessions on topics ranging from the arts, sciences, literature and culture. In order to increase the participation of young people and children, two new categories, an international film festival and a children’s literature, art and music festival, have been added to this year’s edition.
The festival program also includes a painting exhibition, an international mushira, speeches on Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi, meetings with the authors, dastangoi and performances by popular Indian and foreign groups.
âThis year, the theme of the painting exhibition would be ‘Women in Indian Art’, for which over 1,000 paintings were received. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five paintings, âthe statement said. No less than 50 books as well as a table book, based on the first edition of the festival, will also be published during the event.
